AAO Tutors are experienced sophomore and junior students of different majors helping freshmen engage their active learning and develop critical thinking skills.
Tutors help students learn how to learn and find answers on their own. They also provide assistance with skills outside the course content to teach note-taking skills, reading strategies, and writing tips.
AAO Tutors hold meetings one-to-one and in a group with students to teach the academic content on CHEM101, CHEM102, PHYS161, PHYS162, ECON101, ECON102, CSCI151, CSCI152, MATH161, and MATH162 courses.
Students make a request on AAO website (aao.nu.edu.kz) to have a meeting with AAO Tutors.
In the form, students must indicate: Name, Email, Reason for visit, & Preferred date and time.
As we receive the student request, SSF Communication Manager will appoint the AAO Tutor to lead the meeting & date, matching the student request and Tutor experience and competency.
Student and AAO Tutor can meet in-person, Block 9, 9119, or via Zoom.
At the end of the session, students will be invited to fill in the Student Feedback Google Form to share their experience of a session and leave comments or suggestions to improve the sessions.
